Spring 2012 Online Course: Environmental Education in Urban Communities

Course Dates: February 6, 2012 – April 29, 2012

Cornell University's Civic Ecology Lab announces an online course offered through EECapacity, the EPA-funded national environmental education program. This 12-week, non-credit professional development course will cover novel practices and conceptual frameworks of urban environmental education. Limited to 20 participants.

International Green Schoolyard Conference: Engaging Our Grounds ~ California

School Garden Workshop Saturday March 26


The U.C. Botanical Garden in Berkeley will host a mini-conference to share best practices for school gardens. Along with plenty of opportunities to network and share ideas, the workshop will offer:

  • Natural Fibers and Dyes exhibit

Attend the Goldman Environmental Prize Event


The Goldman Environmental Prize is the largest cash award given to grassroots environmental leaders around the world. Each year, a leader from each of 6 continents is selected to receive this honor for the outstanding work they have done protect threatened ecosystems or species. Each year, the organizers of this event invite students to come down to San Francisco's War Memorial Opera house to be a part of the excitement and come away inspired by the tremendous work that grassroots leaders are doing across the world.
